Adossés à une Abbaye Cistercienne du XIIIème siècle, l’une des mieux conservées en France, ces jardins paysagers contemporains ont été créés par Gilles Clément en 1987 pour valoriser ce site historique à la beauté sauvage et pour accueillir la collection exceptionnelle de 5000 plantes venues d’Asie et d’Amérique du Nord du pépiniériste Jean-Louis Cousin. Jardinier, voyageur, biologiste et entomologiste, Gilles Clément a fait de ce site, labellisé Jardin Remarquable et plusieurs fois primé, un observatoire dédié au végétal et à la biodiversité, en hommage au naturaliste picard Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. cinq ambiances végétales vous accueillent en toutes saisons.

Lying in the grounds of a 18th century Cistercian Abbey (one of the most beautifully conserved in France), these contemporary gardens were landscaped by Gilles Clément in 1987 to do justice to the rugged beauty of this historic site and to house the superb collection of plants from Asia and North America owned by nursery worker Jean-Louis Cousin. Gardener, traveller, biologist and entomologist Gilles Clément has turned this site into an observatory of plants and biodiversity, in homage to local naturalist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. It has won many awards and the Remarkable Garden label.
